A small team of advisors in Indianapolis – staying close for over 15 years.
Meet the Nearside team

(OUR MISSION)
For the life behind the numbers.
Nearside was built on a simple observation, gathered over nearly two decades of advising clients: the moments that shape a life — the ones worth getting right — rarely show up on a statement. We're here to stay close to those moments as trusted advisors and stewards.

Close.
Present.
Honest.
Meet the team
A team of advisors who keep wealth in its proper place – a tool in service of what matters in life – not the other way around.
Mark Hildebrand
Founder, Financial Advisor, CFP®, CDFA®
Mark believes wealth is a means, not an end. The decisions that matter most are rarely about money alone. They're about family, purpose, generosity, and the values that shape a life well lived. To him, character counts for more than net worth. Real wealth is measured by how well you steward what you've been entrusted with. Mark has worked in financial services since 2008, advising families at national firms, large institutions, and independent advisory practices.
He holds the CFP® and CDFA® designations. Still, clients tend to value him most as a trusted sounding board. He's who they call for a career move, a retirement, a divorce, an aging parent, or a charitable gift. Mark is also a Trustee of The Oaks Academy.
He lives in Indianapolis with his wife, Patricia, and their children, Caroline and Gabriel. When he's not with clients, you'll find him reading, working out, coaching or watching youth sports, or outdoors.

Mark Idzik
Financial Advisor, CDFA®
Mark is drawn to clients in the middle of significant financial transitions. These are the moments when uncertainty is highest and a steady hand matters most. He pairs genuine empathy with deep technical knowledge. His background in corporate financial planning and his training in business valuation and litigation support help make overwhelming decisions feel manageable.
As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®), he works closely with clients and their legal teams to simplify complex financial issues and protect long-term well-being. The aim is always the same: comfort and clarity when it counts.
A South Bend native, Mark lives in Carmel with his wife, Carrie, and their two sons, Jack and Ben. Outside the office, you'll find him watching his boys compete in youth and high school sports, catching live music, or cheering on Notre Dame football.

Julie Dant
Practice Manager
Julie has spent more than 20 years on the operational backbone of wealth management. Her work is the systems and processes that let advisors focus on clients.
A Butler University finance graduate, she began her career in Chicago managing employer-sponsored compensation plans. There she built a foundation in financial analysis, plan structure, and the value of clear, consistent processes. She joined Raymond James in 2010 and later spent a decade at an independent advisory firm. Her steadiness and attention to detail made her the reliable force colleagues counted on across compliance, trading, and daily operations.
As Practice Manager at Nearside, she keeps the practice running with calm precision, so the experience clients feel is seamless and consistent. Outside work, Julie values stability and trust. She spends her time reading, cooking, and with her three children, friends, and extended family.

(What we cover)
What clients notice working with our team
01.
We stay calm
In hard moments — divorce, loss, uncertainty — we are steady. That's not a style choice. It's the most useful thing an advisor can offer
02.
We show up early
We offer free financial planning during the divorce process itself. No pitch. No agenda. Just clarity before you need it.
03.
We take the wheel
We work with people who want to trust someone with the financial part and get back to living. We are not for everyone.
04.
We ask about your life first
Every meeting starts with a personal check-in. Not because it's protocol — because it's how we understand what your money actually needs to do.
